Too often they have to go through Hell to get there.
The road to that Hell is paved with good intentions.
After more than 20 years of finding, rescuing, reuniting, fostering, adopting critters of all species, citizens of Southwest Houston have created a movement "to protect & to serve" dogs from the communities such as Bellaire, West U. , Meyerland ... surrounding neighborhoods or those miles distant.
The primary common denominator is that all these pups face possibility of imprisonment in the dangerous & decrepit Hell-on-Earth that is known as The Bellaire Dog Pound.
1) Short Term: Implement the simple, systemic & sustainable strategies that can be effected "overnight". Identify & resolve the URGENT crises of oppressive heat, imminent flooding & daily suffering of the helpless inmates.
Demand transparency & public access to the inexcusable conditions of these facilities which, arguably are in violation of City Code and State Law ...
but inarguably, Common Decency & Common Sense.

The next City of Bellaire Council meeting is Monday, June 6 @ 7:00 P.M. The pups have a couple of weeks for us to complete a mountain of preliminary work.
If you can't attend or speak @ the meeting, you CAN participate in the K-9's Salvation-from-Hell by submitting a written comment.
